About

David L. Bowman

Hands-on engineering leader — Austin, TX.

Fifteen years of building production systems and the teams around them, from a single-engineer telehealth platform to a 55-person engineering organization. The work has been mostly TypeScript and functional architecture — schema-driven codebases with typed boundaries, Effect-TS at the core, and enough operational depth to carry a system from an empty repository through deploy, incident, and audit. Domains have run through telehealth, payments, e-commerce, real estate, and compliance-heavy platforms.

Rabbinics and teaching

Ordained Orthodox rabbi (Machon Shlomo, Yeshiva University). Taught Jewish law and philosophy at universities, synagogues, and community programs, and published with Emory Law School on Jewish legal and ethical questions. This ran concurrent with the 2011–2018 consulting practice, which funded seven years of graduate study debt-free.
